Közületek elég sokan fejezték ki nemtetszésüket a korábban már nálunk is megjelent Time videojáték-ranglista kapcsán. A szubjektív vélemények alapján összeállított lista után most nézzünk meg egy olyan rangsorolást, ami már jobban elnyerheti a tetszésünket.
A tesztek pontszámainak gyűjtésével foglalkozó Metacritic saját adatbázisa alapján összeállította 2009 legjobb játékplatformjainak listáját, illetve hogy a különböző platformokon mely játékok teljesítettek a legjobban.
A legjobb játékplatform díját az kapta, akinek játékai összesített értékelése mindenki mást maga mögé utasított. Ennek fényében 2009 legjobb játékplatformja a PlayStation 3. Bár a jó öreg PC az összpontszámban még így is lehagyta a Sony büszkeségét, mivel PS3-ra több 90+ értékelést kapott játék jelent meg, így ha egy hajszállal is, de a japánok érték el hamarabb a célvonalat. A Microsoft Xbox360-ának a bronzérem jutott.
